About the qualification
What is CELTA?
CELTA is an initial teaching qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It combines input sessions on language and methodology with assessed, hands-on teaching practice with real learners. There are no formal exams — you are assessed continuously on your teaching and on written assignments. On passing, Cambridge English issues your CELTA certificate, valid for life and recognised by language schools around the world.

The part-time online course runs 10–14 weeks; we deliver the 10-week format, designed around work and other commitments.

Apply & pay the interview fee
Submit the online application and the interview fee (RM 250 in Malaysia · HKD 500 in Hong Kong) — credited to your course fee if accepted.
Interview
A tutor contacts you directly to arrange a short online interview and verifies your ID.
Letter of Acceptance
If accepted, we issue your Letter of Acceptance with the fee schedule and how to secure your seat.

Pay the deposit within 3 working days to confirm your place, then join your cohort.

Fees are split 50/50 — a deposit to secure your place and a balance due two weeks before the course begins. Pay early to lock in the early-bird fee.

A RM 250 interview fee is paid with your application and credited to your course fee if you are accepted. A cohort runs with a minimum of 6 candidates.
Card and online payments carry a small processing surcharge, shown before you pay; bank transfer has no surcharge. Payments are made to GPEX Central (Malaysia).

Frequently asked questions.
What are the entry requirements?
You should have a high level of English (around C1 or above) and the education and maturity to handle an intensive, assessed course. You do not need prior teaching experience. Suitability is confirmed at the interview.
Is there an exam?
No. CELTA is assessed continuously through your teaching practice and written assignments. It is a Pass/Fail qualification.
What happens at the interview?
After we receive your application and interview fee, a tutor contacts you directly to arrange a short online interview. They will also verify your name and ID — the name that appears on your certificate.
Is the interview fee refundable?
The RM 250 interview fee is credited to your course fee if you are accepted. If you are not accepted, it is non-refundable, as it covers the cost of the interview.
How do I secure my place?
Passing the interview does not by itself reserve a seat. Your place is secured when you pay the deposit, within 3 working days of your Letter of Acceptance, on a first-come, first-served basis.
What if a cohort does not have enough candidates?
Each cohort needs a minimum of 6 candidates. If that minimum is not met, we may postpone the cohort and move you to the next available one, or refund you in full including the deposit.
When do I get my certificate?
Cambridge issues CELTA certificates around 12–14 weeks after the course ends. We will let you know when yours arrives and arrange collection or delivery.
